I was looking up something about the origin of this phrase an stumbled a upon this. Find it absolutely hilarious. Why do people have to make such big issues out of nothing. Racial?Really? The people that I know and use that phrase (many that are white and educated,btw) are merely expressing the fact that they are dealing with a difficult situation that they can do nothing about.
